Since she was a child photographer Traci Bartlow has done black social dances and trained professionally at internationally renown studios like The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Early in her photographer journey, she created photos to document the motion and movement of the dancers she shared space and community with throughout Bay Area dance clubs. Flii and, Maddakks were two amazing dancers from the popular and celebrated dance crew, Housin 'Authority. This photo was taken in Richmond, CA in 1994. Flii, the dancer in the air, later danced and choreographed for Usher, Missy Elliot, and Chris Brown.
